CHK America, Inc. was awarded a contract by Austin’s Capital Metro to assist with the largest service change in their history. Approximately 1,600 bus stops will be replaced and re-branded to generate a simpler bus system resulting in better service, frequency and connectivity.
CHK America, a trusted partner of Capital Metro has successfully designed passenger information solutions for the Austin transit system previously. This newly designed system will deliver information to passengers in a clear and concise format accentuating Capital Metro’s extensive public transportation options. Capital Metro provides bus service at more than 4,000 bus stops throughout Central Texas, with an average of 2.5 million monthly passengers in all modes of transportation.
“We are thrilled to once again work with Capital Metro especially on such a significant project,” explained Rick Wood, CEO and president of CHK America. “CHK is well-versed in assisting large transit agencies with complete bus stop replacement efforts, and the associated redesign of the customer information required for the new services.”
